BS Elementary Education - TUG

Program Description

In addition to Gardner-Webb University’s required general education and prerequisite courses, an additional 34 hours of credit is required for a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree. The professional education minor is required for undergraduate students seeking licensure at the K-12 level. A non-licensure track for qualifying elementary and middle grades candidates is available.

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education requires a minor in Professional Education. The minor includes 27 credit hours. The optional 14-credit-hour concentration in Exceptional Children (EC) prepares candidates to support diverse learners and become successful teachers of exceptional children.

Students will not be permitted to complete more than 50 percent of the minor until formally admitted to the Teacher Education Program. Students must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program a minimum of one full semester prior to the semester in which they student teach.
