Recommendation for Credentialing and Employment

The College of Education is the state-recognized licensing agent at Gardner-Webb for school counseling students. Upon completing the program, graduate students are referred to the College of Education. The appropriate personnel in the College of Education oversee the application process with the graduate.

Clinical mental health counseling students are referred to the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors during the capstone course (CEDU 699) where they begin the application process for licensure. Graduates utilize letters of recommendation from instructors and field experience supervisors as part of the process of licensure. Verification of supervisory and clinical field experience hours are also required.
