CEDU 699 Professional Development of the Clinical Mental Health Counselor
A competency-based capstone course designed to facilitate passage from graduate student to working professional. Students will produce evidence for integrated theoretical and applied experiences mastered throughout academic training, culminating in the development of a professional portfolio of work suitable for submitting to prospective employers, a professional toolkit, and a capstone presentation for program faculty and administrators. In addition to student expectations, the instructor will provide guidance and practice opportunities for professional practice, including preparation for the National Counselor Exam, the state board licensure and national certification application processes, interviews with professional clinicians, and developing and facilitating an education session for a professional conference.
