The MDiv/MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling dual-degree is designed to meet the needs of individuals who seek to integrate theology, faith, and spirituality with counseling theory and clinical experience in the mental health field. The program is designed to meet the educational requirements of licensure as professional counselors in North Carolina and in most other states.

Students will complete 51 hours of core courses in the School of Divinity (for School of Divinity core requirements see the MDiv core here) and 60 hours in the Department of Counselor Education. The Department of Counselor Education portion of the degree includes six hours of electives, a capstone experience taken in the last semester the student is enrolled in the program, and a Practicum (3 hours) and Internship (6 hours) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

The assessment of the MDiv/MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling dual degree is performed within the School of Divinity (MDiv) and the Department of Counselor Education (MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling) using the set of program outcomes associated with each part of the degree.
