THEA 383 Theatre History and Literature III
A study of the development of theatre history and dramatic literature from the late 19th century to the present. Major movements and trends of the last century will be explored, including realism, the avant-garde, and social drama. There will be a strong focus on world drama, such as that of Europe, Africa, Ireland, and Asia. The emphasis will be on reading and evaluating plays and playwrights within their cultural and historical contexts.
