New Student Orientation
GWU Online students receive a New Student Orientation email which provides recorded welcomes, best practices for learning online, MyGWU activation, Blackboard orientation, Success Coach/Advisor connection, and key dates. New students enter the GWU Online Student Organization in Blackboard which introduces key university functions such as financial aid, bookstore, student accounts, registrar, student services, career center, and more. New students who have earned fewer than 15 credits from a higher education institution (not dual enrollment) are automatically enrolled in UNI 111 University Life during their first semester, which is a two-credit course devoted to improving the success of online students.
