Student Learning Outcomes
Students majoring in Communication Studies will:
- demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of audio, written, and visual communication;
- demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical foundations of Communication;
- demonstrate an understanding of the legal and ethical foundations of Communication; and
- demonstrate adequate entry-level professional skills in the chosen area of concentration.

The Communication Studies Major concentration must be selected from one of the following areas.

Public Relations

Required Major Hours (All Concentrations, 15 hours)
Photography Concentration (24 hours)
The Photography concentration consists of the 18 hours of required courses listed immediately below and six hours of elective courses from the options listed below.
Photography Concentration Electives (Choose two of the following, 6 hours)
Public Relations (24-Hour Concentration)
The Public Relations concentration consists of the 21 hours of required courses listed immediately below plus a three hour elective course chosen from the options listed below.
