General Education Crosswalk NCCCS to GWU Online

For students with a completed Associate degree, general education requirements are met except all transfer students are required to take Old and New Testament (REL 300, REL 301) and Information Literacy (LIB 3XX). See Gardner-Webb general education requirements for online undergraduate programs. 

UNI 111 University Life is required the first semester for students transferring fewer than 15 credits from an institution after high school. Students who have taken coursework during high school (dual enrollment) must take UNI 111 their first semester.

A cross-walk of community college general education and Gardner-Webb equivalent online courses is shown below.

* Because of the Christian nature of Gardner-Webb’s identity and mission, it requires all bachelor’s-degree-seeking students, including transfers, to earn credit (whether at Gardner-Webb or another institution under transfer or transient credit policies) for REL 300 Introduction to the Old Testament and REL 301 Introduction to the New Testament. Therefore, these two courses are designated upper-division General Education Requirements.

** University Life (UNI 111) is an engaging course designed to help first-year students transition well to Gardner-Webb, flourish during their first semester, and be equipped with tools and resources to succeed throughout their educational journey. First-year students must be enrolled in this course their first semester at the university. Students who transfer from higher ed institutions with more than 15 credits are exempt from online UNI 111; nonetheless, any Gardner-Webb Online student can take UNI 111.
