MPAS 636 Underserved Medicine / EBM SCPE

MPAS 636 Evidence-Based Medicine & Underserved Medicine SCPE is a five-week hybrid clinical practice experience that provides an opportunity to enhance learning and supervised clinical practice in Underserved Populations and Areas. This SCPE exposes students to the diversity of healthcare needs and issues impacting general medical health in medically-underserved populations and advances knowledge of resource allocation to meet those needs. This SCPE course also provides a framework for producing a uniquely-researched medical paper. The SCPE experience integrates knowledge from didactic EBM courses. It expands students’ skills in developing and applying clinical research principles, medical writing, data sampling, literature appraisal, and medical databasing and sourcing of information. This SCPE course also provides a framework for producing a uniquely-researched medical paper. Together, students experience supervised clinical practice in a unique area of medicine while advancing their medical research and writing skills.
