The Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, offered through Gardner-Webb’s Broyhill Undergraduate School of Management, provides a fully-accredited baccalaureate degree for those wishing to pursue a career in accounting. With a degree in accounting, the graduate can pursue entry-level positions with public accounting firms, banks, and a host of other financial institutions. The curriculum helps prepare the student to take professional exams such as the CPA, CMA and CFA. The GOAL-DCP curriculum in Accounting is designed as an intensive, quantitatively-approached method, with a concentration in both the science of accounting and business administration.
Student Learning Outcomes
To accomplish the mission of the Godbold School of Business in individual courses within the GOAL-DCP, students completing a course in accounting will be able to:
- Adapt themselves in entry-level professional career positions in business, government, and other areas of human endeavor where organizational, managerial, and analytical skills in accounting are vital for success.
- Learn new managerial skills in accounting that require knowledge of computerized technology applications in business.
- Respond to changes in accounting in a dynamic, global marketplace and demonstrate high Christian ethical standards in their place of work.
